Sophie Grier

Sophie is a singer and vocal coach who has been playing the role of Frida with The Bjorn Identity following their reboot post Covid, and since then she has performed in many incredible venues around Ireland and toured with them across Europe. Much like her singing counterpart Karen, her first love was singing show tunes – attaining both an ALCM and LLCM diploma in Musical theatre. However, as a very versatile singer and with a perfect ear for an emotive melody, she has loved settling into the sultry low mezzo qualities of Frida Lyngstad, complimenting beautifully on tone and colour with Karen’s, high mezzo Agnetha, creating one voice in song.
 
 When not on-stage Sophie is working behind the scenes of youth shows as the Artistic Director for Uplift Performing Arts based in Carrickfergus. She works primarily as a Vocal Coach, and Musical Director, but has also enjoyed the role of Director in her own right too, working on productions such as Sister Act Jr (Theatre at the Mill), Broadway to Belfast (The Mac Theatre) and The Addams Family (Theatre at the Mill). She has also had the pleasure of teaching internationally, travelling across the water to Kentucky USA for five summers to direct you productions. Sophie adores working with the next generation of performers and hopes to inspire other young performers from Northern Ireland into a career in the arts.
