Karen Rush is Creative Director & Producer at Musicon Entertainment and alongside her on stage / off stage husband is the founding member for The Bjorn Identity Abba Tribute show. Karen began singing at the age of 10 and is known for her extreme versatility as a triple theatre performer working in the music, theatre and television industry for 25 years performing worldwide.

Karen graduated University of Herefordshire in 1998 with a 1st class degree in Performing Arts, specialising in Musical Theatre, immediately followed by her professional singing debut as ‘guest vocalist’ to Peter Corry in Concert Album Launch at Waterfront Hall. Karen soon relocated full time to London where in 2000 she auditioned and won the coveted title role of Snow White at The Grand Opera House Belfast, starring alongside Britt Ekland and Robin Cousins. Whilst treading the dreaded boards in England, Karen returned regularly to Northern Ireland, to perform in theatre and many roles as Panto Goodies and Baddies over a number of years with The Ulster Theatre Company and GBL Productions. Her theatre and TV career has followed a path of variety and diversity ever since appearing BBC & RTE films, Adverts & productions at The Grand Opera House, The Lyric Theatre & Mac Theatre Belfast & Millennium Forum, Derry, London’s Fringe and UK regional theatres and concert tours.

Karen has toured UK and Internationally as lead vocalist for some of UK leading function & tributes bands and mastered and honed her ‘ABBA’ scene over the past 24yrs performing both the roles of Agnetha & Frida in some of the top names on the ABBA tribute industry performing worldwide. Most notably Karen joined the cast of well-known Abba Mania (Mania Abba Tribute show) on their 2004 European Tour & Special NYE concert at The Kremlin Palace, Moscow 2005. Karen also enjoyed an invitation to perform her favourite role of Agnetha in a stadium tour of Brazil for Abba Magic in 2011. During which time The Bjorn Identity had already enjoyed its launch to the audiences of Northern Ireland, as a humble 4pc band, with huge aspirations and intentions of raising the bar for Abba Tributes available across Ireland at that time and to showcase the talent Northern Ireland has to offer – worldwide.

In 2014, working alongside her acting career, Karen and husband Richard set up their own production company Musicon Entertainment to house their productions and expand and promote their portfolio of tribute shows for theatres across UK. Karen is extremely proud of what the band has managed to achieve over the past few years particular the meteoric rise to recovery and international success post global pandemic of 2020.

“I feel humbled to share to stage with such talent. I am in awe of my band members and every night on stage is like being at a party with your best friends on stage and off! I go to work happy every day how lucky am I?”
