Ryan Greer

Ryan is a classically trained pianist who graduated from York University in 2016. He has since worked as a freelance musical director and performer in Northern Ireland, and enjoys working in musical theatre, choral and classical environments.

In July 2016 he founded EastSide Arts Choir, who he continues to work with. His musical theatre works includes productions of Company, Oliver!, Chicago, The Addams Family Jnr, The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jnr and Shrek Jnr.

As well as a musical director, Ryan enjoys working as an accompanist, which has led him to work with many singers including Peter Corry on concert tours such as The Call of The Celts which toured the Netherlands in March-April 2018. He regularly works as an arranger and pianist for Peter Corry Productions.

From 2019-2022 Ryan taught at the International College of Musical Theatre, Belfast branch, teaching music theory, accompanying students and directing ensemble singing classes.

Ryan also manages and is taking over ownership of Kilwaughter Castle, near Larne. He organised a number of events to celebrate its 400th birthday in 2022, and plans to develop it as a non-profit visitor attraction and event space in the future.

Since February 2017 Ryan has been performing in The Björn Identity as Benny. ABBA themselves never wrote their music down, so performing it live requires lots of study and careful listening.

“I thoroughly enjoy bringing my training as a pianist to help understand the construction of these classic songs, but ultimately my favourite part of being in the band is getting to share the joy of live music with hundreds of people, as well as his fellow band mates”
